What is plymouth laser?

The Plymouth Laser is a compact sports car that was produced by the Chrysler Corporation under the Plymouth brand from 1989 to 1994. It was part of a joint venture between Chrysler, Mitsubishi, and Diamond Star Motors.

The Plymouth Laser was essentially a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eagle Talon, sharing the same platform, engine options, and styling. It was available in either a 2-door coupe or a 2-door convertible body style.

The Plymouth Laser was offered with a range of engine options, including a 1.8L turbocharged inline-4, a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4, and a 2.0L naturally aspirated inline-4. These engines were paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.

The performance-oriented Plymouth Laser RS Turbo model was the most popular among enthusiasts, offering spirited performance and handling. It was capable of producing up to 195 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque.

The Plymouth Laser was discontinued in 1994, along with the rest of the Diamond Star Motors lineup, as Chrysler shifted its focus away from performance cars and towards more mainstream vehicles. Despite its short production run, the Plymouth Laser has gained a cult following among enthusiasts for its sporty design and performance capabilities.
